Best 1/4 time.
R/T = .487
60' = 2.13
1/4 = 14.453
MPH = 95.81
I seem to average around 2.13 60's on most of the runs. I seem to average low 14.5's on most runs with traps around 95.3.
Best trap speed was 96.38.
I definetly need better tires.

Are those runs on street tires? If so they are pretty good.

You should be able to hit 2.0 flat with a really good launch on street tires...

Pretty decent times for street tires but I wouldn't expect it to change alot with drag radials or slicks as I believe you will find that if you are running a stock convertor that you don't have enough HP to overcome the lack of tire spin. My car when still internally stock never had enough power to do better than 1.9 60's on slicks until I installed the 3500 rpm convertor. Just for something to compare with here is my best pass on street tires(18's), and slicks with internally stock engine, stock injectors, intercooler, bla, bla, oh and tuned by Dave.

....running a stock convertor that you don't have enough HP to overcome the lack of tire spin.....
I'm confused by this statement :confused: ? My problem is my car breaks the tires loose too easily???
In fact, after tweaking my timing a bit at the track I started breaking the tires loose when it shifted into second so I had to start feathering the throttle then too. I always felt a slight "twist" from the rear so to speak with shifts to second before the timing change.
As for stall on the TC, I agree that I should look at a higher stall, but I'd aim more for around 2500 rpm's and not 3500 because the car is building alot of torque down there that you won't be taking advantage of with such a high stall. Just my thoughts on this matter.
I'll be getting a cam soon, and unless my tire situation is fixed, I'm afraid it isn't going to help alot, until after launching and I'm out of the "spin" zone, which for my car, is after the first 100' or so. Last fall, I spun both tires almost a 100' down the track before they grabbed :).

He meant on slicks, you don't have enough power to spin them like that.

Ok ;)... I know that much and I doubt I'd ever get there.
Got one problem though... Can't run slicks in the FAST class I'm trying to run the car in. Me gotta stick with stock rims and stock sized tires. This is proving to be more of a challenge as time goes on because as I add more power, which isn't so easy as most of the regular bolt ons are not allowed, I have to contend with traction issues as well.
Fun n games.

do you have to run pump gas in FAST?

Believe it or not I had a really good time with my Fuzion HRi's on my Galant (and is how I pulled off a 2.0 in a FWD at the track along with the 13.8) - I think I had them down to 22 psi and they shortly fried after that (not long tread wear when beat on trust me) but it did get me there.

Well done, Fraser. Solid times!!
Keep whittling away at it. :D

Well, you could get DOT drag radials in your stock size. That's one option. Also, you could maybe play with the ARC to have different shock settings front-to-rear and get better weight transfer. Finally, how about a sandbag in the trunk? If you are having real tire spin issues, that extra traction might make up for the added weight.

No drag radials allowed. Tires are key, I have the same problem only I'm making awsome 2.4 60fts at the moment. I never knew a stock SC would go sideways on an off-idle launch. :eek: Where have I been all these years? :rolleyes:

I know they are 245/50R16 But I got almost got a 2.0 60 foot of Firestone Firehawk wide ovals and a 14.3 at 95 mph. But they are not cheap.

What kind of power is the car making at the back wheels?

Don't know... best guess would be around 260 or so. Never had her on the dyno. EEC Analyzer is calculating from my datalogs that I'm doing about 300 peak but thats at the crank.

I'm guessing it makes about 240-245rwhp based on what I've seen. Tires have to be stock size. Michelins suck for drag racing so that is the first problem. A tire treatment will definitely help any tire.

My car made 245 rwhp whenever David tuned it in 05 at the Shootout and it ran a 13.97 at 98 mph the next day with a 2.05 60' so I would guess you are making in the 220-240 hp range. Keep in mind that while mph can be a good indicator of hp, mph is usually artificially high if tire spin is involved and therefore not a true indication of actual hp. Whenever you find a tire that doesn't spin your mph will likely drop to what it should be for your actual hp level. Also a little side note for you and David if you were to start with a car that has traction assist such as a 94-95 auto and then install a trac loc as I have you would find it easy to launch with very little tire spin or drama. Good luck with everthing and keep us posted on the results.

Anyone want to buy a set of Michelin's?... awsesome traction, when it rains :D

to add, when my car was hitting 1.99 60 foots consistently, my mph was always in the 96 mph range.
Now, my 60's average 1.88, and my mph has not changed at all.....still in the 96 mph range.
so what 83GT460 said is true, because,I did not add any HP at all(just freed up what was there), and my times were 14.13's, and now they are in the 13.8's....but the mph was the same.
