NEED HELP, car wont stay on!!

I really need to find out what is causing my low idle and eventual shut off of my 91 SC. I have to commute 50 miles to school and back each day and i cant afford to break down and be late to class. What can cause this idle problem?"!?

I would check 1st all the vacuum hoses and connections. When it starts to die and you tap the gas to keep it going, if the rpm shoot up real easy but then wants to die right out when it idles down it could be a vacuum leak. A bad IAC on the throttle body would give a more erratic up and down idle speed.

Dont you also think it could be his crank sensor??

i had a problem with my 90sc when the car would stay started it would run then the car would die..

i would check the crank sensor!!

The problems that I've had with a bad crank sensor have been misfiring giving the so called bucking effect, or the engine dies and won't restart without repeated cranking if it starts at all.
