Does anyone have pics of 13" cobra brakes with cadium plated (gold) rotors with chrome or polished aluminum wheels. Just wanting to see how the gold rotors look with chrome wheels.

Hey David, you might want to give Phatbrd "miki" a PM hes very good at photoshop. If you have a good pic of the rotor up close he can probably work some magic with it.;)

Thanks, that's exactly the kind of pictures I'm looking for. Here's another one that is anodized and a darker gold than what I'm planning to use, but still gives a good idea of how the gold and silver look together.

David here's a more natural shot of the chrome wheel with the black and silver brake parts.

If you go through discbrakerus they offer a silver powder coating as an option. This is my rear disc

David, the poweder coat should wear out, around the pad surface area you shoud have silver metal color. That will be the main focus and it will match the chrome or polished wheels well.
It does not really matter what color you choose it will look good.

Ricardo,

The ones I ordered from KVR are cadmium plated & slotted. They look like the picture Roadhawg posted. Not sure how long it takes to wear thru the cadmium plating, but I expect them to look like Ira's after the first year.

Ken,

What did you use to repaint the rear calipers ?

David

My shop does painting so I rummaged around and found red Imron paint that matched the front calipers. It came out nice, just have to wait untill I drive the car some to see how well it holds up

David,

What was your total cost?

David Neibert

David,

What was your total cost?

$299 Red Cobra calipers
$14 banjo bolt kit
$353 Rotors 13" front & stock size rear (slotted and plated)
$44 Shipping for rotors (KVR)
$18 Shipping for calipers (buyfordrace)

$728 Total

Still need to redrill front rotors for 4.25" bolt pattern, but that won't cost anything. I could have gotten the stuff cheaper if I went with calipers that didn't say Cobra and plain jane rotors.

No it was an excellent call on the plated stuff David. With the way my wheels show everything off the brakes were rusted in less then 6 months. Always go plated with big wheels, lesson learned.
