New Shift Boot and Knob

I finally decided to get that shift boot on ebay. It's listed as being made from an original boot but it's not at all. When I got it I thought it looked like it was oddly shapen but I tried it out and it actually worked pretty well. The base is maybe a little small but I used zip ties to stretch the leather out a bit. I also got one of the 05 mustang knobs and put it on after cutting the bottom plastic piece off. It looks pretty good now, not bad for 45 bucks total. Sorry for the cell phone pics.

Yeah the threads are the same. I think all mustangs have the same thread so they should all be compatible.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

Someone here has already used that knob, so I know I am not the first. Also, I don't think that I will sell the old knob. I'm still stashing all of my stock parts for when I eventually have to sell.

I have the same ebay boot, it didnt fit quite right so I glued it to the bottom of the console, now there is no gap to loose things around the shifter boot either. it has held up good.

great idea on the knob..

Didn't have to do anything to keep the boot on the knob. The pressure from the knob tightening down on it is sufficient. Don't be afraid to crank down on it a bit if its loose. By the way this boot and knob setup is still working very well for me. Daily driver for like 6 years now

Do you know which actual boot you bought? There are millions on ebay

I've got the same knob ready to put in my 35th. The colors match, plus it feels nice. Not that I hold a lot of knobs to compare, but it is a comfortable fit.
