Well, I'm using some software called Car For. I had purchased it a while back when figuring out what if any benefits to longer rods I might see. It does all sorts of interesting calculations.

I was looking to figure out where to shift at the 1/4 track after my recent dyno tune and looked to this software again. In contacting the author, he suggested using the acceleration calculation in the software after inputting the torque vs rpm data from the Dyno. This plus information about the car and transmission ratios plus final drive can be used to model different shift points.

The software will try and account for aerodynamic drag, and calculate a Acceleration G force. The goal in the modeling for shift points is then to have the acceleration g-force after the shift be as close to the same as before the shift.

An example of the output is attached as I plan for my trip to Earlville, IA this saturday and the SC/GTP Club Clash. Note that I've put a 2 second delay on the 1 to 2 shift due to 2nd gear issues I am currently having. Thus my ET won't be great, but hopefully it will be consistent.

I'll bring my laptop with and the software this weekend if anyone wants to see the software in person and maybe model their runs. Just bring the RPM vs Torque data from a dyno sheet.

When looking at the attached, note that my torque peak is about 3200 rpm, and my HP peak is about 5200rpm.
