Busted the clutch line....

After starting up the car and driving it around for a little while in over 3 months the clutch line blew open and nearly started a fire on my headers. Not sure when it exactlly blew, I was sweeping out the garage when I notice the car was smoking and it wasn't running. Sure enough it was pissing fluid all over the place. Once I jacked it up the line blew completely apart about halfway. Is this a common issue or is it a result of old age, heat, or both?

I ordered a new line tonight so I'll just have to wait until that comes in before I'm back up and running again. It seems like it'll be a real hassel to get the line off the master cylinder end or remove the master.

Turns out it was the heat. It was too close to the primary on the longtubes. I Put a new line in today and made a heat-shield that bolts to the bellhousing and covers the line. It should help it out. The new line is only 1inch from the primary, so the shield was a must.
