Pulled this out of a 96 olds 88 this weekend for next to nothing, its in immaculate shape! Anyone know if this is the same m90 as the GTP, hence the same coated rotors? I love u pull it!

i thought the GTP's and cars like that had something like an M65 or something funny like that instead of our M90

I believe this is an actual M90, according to the Bonneville club website. I'm pretty sure the M65 was used on the older model Bonnevilles. I picked up the blower, 2 taillights and a center console for $100. Not a complete steal but I'm happy. The car was in great shape minus the body damage. Engine was almost spotless, and no leaks that I could see on top. Here's pics compared to the Bird..

Those are reserved for the Cobalts and such, the Mini Ss are even smaller.

Id say its just a different M90 and take a look and search the GTP sites.

Looks just like the M90 GTP blower...about the only thing you can use from it for your SC is the rotor pack.

Same blower as the GTP's. Though, I didn't know they ever suercharged the oldsmobiles. 96 would be a series II 3800. Check the engine code, should be a 1.

Wow....a factory supercharged car even more obscure than an SC. Never even knew olds had a supercharged anything.

There were actually quite a few Olds that were supercharged. Some of the Riveras were SCed, and even the Olds Aurora had an SC option. The Buick Regal also had an SC option I believe... GM was all over the front drive SC thing in the late 90's

The Aurora was never SC (it had either the 4.0 Northstar or the 3.5 "shortstar" V6.) AFAIK the only Olds with an M90 3.8 (series 1 or 2) is the Eighty Eight LSS and some Ninety Eights. As for SC Buicks, there are Park Ave Ultra, Riviera, and Regal GS.

r u sure they weren't superchared? I thought that some came out with one.

I knew about the Buicks, but that's the first I heard about Olds having a supercharger. Makes since the way GM was rebranding just about everything they made.

There was just a recall on all of GM's SC'd V6's, i think the valve cover was leaking oil on one of the headers or something like, and whatever was happening was resulting in fires.3

I stand corrected! You are correct sir! I was confusing the Aurora with the Rivera, which I believe were of similar chassis/design (like Monte-Carlo/Grand Prix....)

Yep, they were both G-body cars, along with the Park Ave/LeSabre and Bonneville.
