In January 1994 I was driving a mint 1984 Lincoln Mark VII that was broad-sided by a hit-and-run driver. As I result, I had to buy a new car. I didn't want a Mustang, as they were too common, so I narrowed my choice between a Corvette or a Thunderbird SC. Corvettes of the same age were about $4-6k more than the SC, and I didn't want to be car poor. A local dealer advertised 9 "Executive Driven Demo" Thunderbird SC's for sale. I test-drove the 92 that I ended up buying. Purchased with only 11,608 miles. In the long run, the Corvette would have been cheaper I'm sure (and faster), but I would not have met the great friends that I have because of this car.
