Yes. The conversion is to 134a

First, you have to rework the wiring and change the plug from a female to male plug.

I had the exact same issue on mine.
Did you check the harmonic balancer bolt? Make sure it is not sheared off. Without the bolt holding the balancer in place, I will cause the balancer to pull away...
