What's the fluid look like now though?
The MLPS is bolted onto the side of the tranny, let's the computer know what gear the car should be in. If it's bad that might be your problem.
Joe
Dropping out of gear like that could be a bad MLPS. Have you checked the fluid condition? Using Mercon V?
Joe
Thanks Pat!
Joe
Freakin' rodents!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year folks! :)
Joe
Thank you David for the NOS parts. Great items at reasonable prices and excellent communication. Will do business again!
Joe
Parts arrived today, thank you David! :)
Joe
David,
If you decided to sell off separate items I'm interested in E9SZ6342528B (Ford badge) and E9SZ16758A (Hood bumpers)
Joe
Cash for Clunkers? :( That was back in 2009.
Joe
Might want to check to see if the transmission has an updated MLPS, and it's a 4R70W.
Joe
Looking good! :)
Joe
OK, thanks.
Joe
Are the control arms NOS Motorcraft or the AutoZone brand?
Joe
Nice! :)
Joe
It's mounted on the side of the transmission. I've never changed one myself but it doesn't sound too difficult. A few screws and unplug the sensor, pretty sure it needs to be lined up properly.
Joe
A bad MLPS or manual lever position sensor can give you these problems. The 94-95s had problems with the original sensor, has it ever been replaced or updated?
Joe
From the factory the 95 came with a flat pan, the 96+ pan has the dimple in the middle.
Joe
Are you sure it's the switch? Have you checked the motor and all the internals?
Joe
Following this, I'll be needing new tires come spring.
Joe
Merry Christmas folks! :)
Joe
Have fun tomorrow guys, weather sounds good!
Joe
Cap arrived today, thanks for doing these Greg. It's a beauty! :)
Joe

Joe
