Your now Mcleod is the later design. The same style that I sold to Damon.
Mine is the old school style.

Lay both flywheels on a flat surface and with a two identical cups in the center of them to raise them from the table to see the difference in ring gear.

Also neither clutch will use all of the inner surface, but the later clutch will use almost all the outer till the end, Your clutch will use less of the outer end.

I think mine is heavier then yours then given I have the older design.

I forgot you posted pictures of yours on page 2. The backside of mine has been turned to remove weight.

Looks like we might have to trade hardware now....

You get my shouldered bolts and I get your non shouldered ones so i can use my dowel.

I dont see how you can put on dowels use, later style bolts on your new Mcleod flywheel.

I caught this while trying to install the flywheel and had to use a drill press to slightly enlarge each hole. I bet if I had just put one hell of an impact on, I could have smashed the bolts through the holes. But it would put a lot of stress on the flywheel. I wonder if the stress could have caused some kind of relief from the pressed on ring gear. And it certainly could have caused the center of the flywheel to really bite onto the crank.

Check those bolts and the flywheel holes for any smashing or deforming.

Argh!!!!!, I just tried mounting back my old Mcloeod Alum flywheel on my car. Now I remember having the same issue before, but i forgot all about it. The stock shoulder bolts do not work on this flywheel. Anyone remember what was the fix for this problem. I think SPEC and Mcleod both had the same issues with mounting holes tha were too small for the shouldered bolts. Obviously I had this flywheel mounted before, and the bolts I used back then are probaly bouncing around Dalkes shop, Since he removed it in place for a steel one to diagnose a starting problem. If anyone can point me back in the right direction that would be great.
And Michael your bolts for the clutch work great. I am glad we traded.

While searching I found an old post, that will help my situation.

    http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthre...flywheel+bolts

What I cannot figure out is which one should I order. ARP Sells two kits that are M10x1.0

    http://www.arp-bolts.com/catalog/Catalog.html

4.6l & 5.4L Modular kit 254-2801 This one has under UHL? the number 1.000
2000cc Pinto kit 151-2801 And this one has under UHL the number 1.150

I dont really know what UHL means. I might have to order both if noone can remember which one worked with the problematic flywheels.

Thank you, I though it had to do with the shoulder width.
