Saturday Sept 21st motor swap project

This is just to see who all is coming down this Saturdya to help with my 4 cyl motor swap, I know Les and Sean showed interest in helping and I just wanted to confirm if this Saturday was OK. I need to know so I can make sure I have the cherrypicker rented, I don't want to rent it if no one can make it, I woudl rather do this job with some help, a RWD V6 is no problem but me and FWD cars do not mix to well as of yet, I need more practice on them and some more experienced help

Anyone is welcoem to come and help out hang out, start time would be 1pm this Sat and there will be beer and food available for those coming, I just need to know who is coming so I can have enough food/beer available.

Either post here or email me. If not enough guys can make it I will have to reschedule the motor swap but I really want to get this done before the winter and before my surgery. I should find out my surgery date Oct 10th when I see the new specialist in Hamilton.

    Jamie,

Sorry. I wasn't ignoring this thread. I'm working on finding out if I'm already obligated to anything, and then I'll confirm. I should know for sure this evening.

    I'll keep you posted!

    Cheers,

    Sean

Same as Sean here Jamie. Having some trouble with the suspension on the Cougar that I have to take care of. Also have my sons 86 Buick Century that blew the power steering on Sunday(and of course he now has Dad's Taurus up in Ottawa) and I cannot see where it is blowing it out. Both those have to fixed.
The weatherman is showing some F-ugly weather for Saturday, but you do have that garage. If it rains Saturday for sure I cannot do spit with either car at Ryans and I could help you. Even if it is nice Saturday I could do the one thing with Ryan on the Cougar (or before) in the morning then head to your place.

    Jamie,

    You've got mail.

I tried posting here last night, but I kept getting the ol' "Server Too Busy" thing. Now to add insult to injury, they've got the link for donating via PayPal right in the message box.

I hope they get this sorted out soon. I'm not sure how much more I can stand this thing where I type a response and then try to post it, but can't because of server overload. I don't know how many times I've just scrapped my post because I can't submit it. I feel bad for the people who are soliciting input on a question they need an answer to!

Anyway, let me know what the arrangements are for this Saturday.

    Best regards,

    Sean

I can get some work done on the cars tomorrow in preparation, so hoepfully we can get them both pulled, I'll try and get the rads and misc stuff out. Labelling the wires should be fairly basic if I even have to at all, I will check.

Since I will be renting the cherrypicker on Sat morning and the place closes at noon I actually get to keep it till monday morning and only have to pay one day rental, so if we don't get done Sat, I can finish up on Sun, as long as the motor is in I can hook up everything later. The part that worries me is the axles, I have never taken apart a FWD motor and tranny before so its all new to me as far as the axles shafts.

Since I will have the cherrypicker too I want to try adn get my mustang motor pulled, but I can do that myself Sunday so no worries there Man I should just but a cherrypicker, the fold up kind, I rent them so much. hehe

    Anyone else game for Sat?

Sean what kind of beer do you like? I'll pick up a pack.

    Jamie,

Thanks for the inquiry regarding my beer of choice, but to be honest I don't drink that stuff. I just never acquired a taste for it. I usually drink rye and Coke, but don't worry about having that on hand. I prefer to stay away from the alcohol when I'm doing this kind of stuff. Too many different ways to get hurt if you're not focussed on what you're doing, not to mention the added costs of each screw up.

I should be good for noon.

    Thanks anyways,

    Sean

Jamie it looks like I'll be able to come as well. Ryan helped me out last night and we drilled and tapped a grease nipple into my lower ball joint and now that should finally SHUT IT UP from that infernal squeeking when turning my wheel slowly.

Can you post directions to your place, I was only there once and I forget how to get there. Oh yes. Diet Pepsi if you could..LOL...and coffee too.

Sean wanna meet at Timmy's at the bottom of Centennial Parkway?

Say 10:30-11:00-ish? I think we can make Jamies in about 40 minutes from there or so.
