    Supercharger: Disassembly and Assembly

The snout seal on my SC was leaking and I did not have a replacement. I did, however, have a SC with a good seal in it but it had some noise in it. I swapped the snouts and now mine has the same rattle. Is is possible I put it together wrong. Is there a right and wrong was to put the snout back on?

Thanks, in advance for all the help!

I don't understand why you would put on a different snout that was making noise and now wonder why it's making noise on your sc? Snout seals are very easy to replace.

    Here's the one I bought:

He sells some teflon gaskets also:

Well because I did not know it was in the snout; I thought the noise was in the SC itself. I have ordered another seal from the same guy you referred.

My question concerns putting the snout back on. Can it be misaligned?

    Thanks!

Not that I know of, it has 2 line up dowels on opposite ends that keep everything in line. Unless something was messed up with them it should be aligned just fine.

its most likely the snout coupler. its a cheap easy fix. if your supercharger sounds like it has rocks rolling around inside of it, you need to replace the coupler.

If it sounds like rocks it's the bearings.
