    M5R2-C.........................3.42 2.16 1.34 1.00 0.75

And I see Ricardo is building tran's for ford. 6 Speed manual. Looks like a good one too.
    Ricardo 6...........2.611 1.708 1.233 0.943 0.767 0.625

Pulled these numbers for this site Ford trans ratios
That what I was saying in my earlier post. Run the 6R55, 6R75 or 6R80 (same gear ratios) with a 2.73 rear gear and in 1st-3rd gear it's the equivalent of running a 4R70W with a 4.10 out back. That's insane for a street car, especially considering the Mustang is going with a 3.15 rear gear.

    6R80 adapter kit for SBF

I just came across this on a 71-3 Mustang site that Performance Automatics company has a kit for mating a 6R80 with a Small block ford, which should mean our 3.8's as well.

thread says summit racing sells a complete kit with trans and controller.

Just looking into this myself as have thought would really like the idea.

Ed - can you bring in a 2.7EC crate motor!!

    there is a guy....

PA transmission will build you whatever you want and stand behind it for three years.. They cut off the bell and replace it with something that is "SF1" rated as well. Yes they are a bit $$$ but if they work then go for it.. They do have a six speed GM trans that comes with all the controls to hook it right up to your car and go play.. yes they do build one for our engines as well.. $6500 to your door if you want to know with everything including the converter.....Rich it takes about three weeks to get it as well....
Too many cars, too little time to drive them. Anything less than 500 cubes is a small block. If you slow down in life you will get run over..
