Yesterday when the mechanic was doing my motor mounts he had the tensioner pulley off and he showed it to me and he said you need a new one it is wearing out fast??

where is the best spot to pick this up???

suggestions and or comments please !!

Ron,

Is the spring-loaded tensioner itself worn out, or just the idler pulley that bolts to it? If it's just the pulley that's affected, then you can get a replacement from Canadian Tire cheap. Actually, I would recommend you replace all of the tensioner pulleys with Dayco part # 89016. I think they run about $22 each.

thanks Sean

it is just the pulley as far as I can tell
I think I will buy them and put them on with new belts too:)

Ron,

There are three tensioners in total. The 89016 pulley can be used in all three positions, despite the stock supercharger belt idler pulley being slightly smaller in diameter than the 3" 89016. These are really easy to change. You simply reuse the original bolts and washers, minus the stock dust covers.

Cheers,

Sean
