Clutch clip keeps breaking

Had this car since 05 and haven't used but on clip. On the way to storage Friday I went through 2. No idea why the clip keeps breaking. The hole is not out around. It keeps breakng on the back side where the pedel digit would hold pressure on it when pushed in. I was just doing normal shifting. Nothing hard. The clip broke the last time with only pushing it in about 10 times.

Can we use the assembly from a mustang or F150 since they use the same clip? Wondering if the female part of the assembly is replaced it would stop breaking? It looks fine, but who knows upside down and behind the fuse box isn't the best place to be digging on a 115 degree day with the damn light burning your forearm.

Something to ponder for the next month until club clash.

Look at the arm that the clip attaches to. It might be out of round. I ended up filing it down and drilling out the hole in the master cylinder and used an oil impregnated brass bushing. Here's a link to the thread: http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112914
