Looks like the SC block has a bit more meat for 4 bolt mains.
I was hoping it had even more ? but maybe my 89 block
is different? What year is that SC block?

PS: last SC pic did not load...

That last pic is just small I think. Its got a 91 casting number, not sure if they had a newer casting for SC's. I'll see if I can look at the original block out of my 95 to see if it is different. The one in the pics was a reman that threw a rod.
 
My original block is too buried right now to see anything. I need to move some stuff this weekend, I'll see if I can get to it then.
 
I think both the ones I had were D8 castings. The first one was
A Duracast Crank but this one is FORGED :D
Hopefully the first years had good blocks...

D8 is old. Did they even make a 3.8 back then? Now E8 I could see. D8=78, E8=88;)
