Quality Auto Trim - Rick

Yesterday the repair of the seats in my '90 SC was completed. The goal was to repair or replace the leather that had split or dry rotted or otherwise failed with new leather to OE specs, retaining the remaining original leather. The outcome is magnificent in that the older leather adds a sense of use, of historical patina, while the new leather renews the interior. The seats are black leather with Ford mini perf for the centers of the seat and back. Frames were repaired and new foam replaced that which had deteriorated.

The repairs were done by Rick and his staff at Quality Auto Trim of Troy, MI. Rick also does repairs and restorations for the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, as well as repairs for various nearby auto dealers. He is a craftsman, obsessed with getting the job done right, yet he charges very reasonable rates, considerably below rates at other interior reconstruction shops. His shop handles projects where seats are sent to him from other areas of the nation, repaired and then sent back. As with most craftsmen, time took a back seat, as it were, to the quality of the work so the completion took longer than expected but well worth the wait. I heartily recommend Rick's services to members of SCCoA.
