2012 Hot Rod Power Tour

Yeah, we haven't talked about it. I think it would be nice to arrive early enough Friday to pick up the registration stuff, but we'll have to wait and see when we all want to leave the area.

Kurt,

Do you know how far is it from STL to where we are staying Friday night ?

David

I believe we are staying in Detroit on Friday night too. I think Tony mentioned it in the other thread. St. Louis to Detroit is 562 miles.
I stand corrected. You posted this in the other thread:

Micah,

You forgot to mention that we are driving to Detroit on Friday June 1 and staying at the Courtyard in Novi, Friday & Saturday night. So this is how the schedule really looks.

Sunday June 3 Muskegon, MI – 2nd stop Downtown (Hampton Inn Holland)
Monday June 4 Champaign, IL – 3rd stop Assembly Hall, Univ. of IL (Courtyard in Champaign)
Tuesday June 5 Madison, IL – 4th stop Gateway Motorsports Park (Kurt and/or Dave's)
Wednesday June 6 Miami, OK – 5th stop Buffalo Run Casino (TownePlace Suites Joplin)
Thursday June 7 Stillwater, OK – 6th stop Kicker Corporate Complex (BEST WESTERN PLUS Cimarron Hotel & Suites in Stillwater)
Friday June 8 Arlington, TX – 7th stop Quicktrip Park (TownPlace Suites in Arlington)

Right...I was just wondering how many hours it would take to get there so we could decide what time to leave St. Louis. Looks like a 9.5-10 hour drive, so I would prefer to leave pretty early, like 6:30-7:00 AM.

David

You will lose an hour crossing the timezone too. Doug was a 350 mile drive for me (holland MI) and you could do that in 6 hours comfortably if that helps.

My car is done and ready to go. I went ahead and paid my registration too.

David

PS: Kathy is now planning to do the second half of the tour instead of the first half.

My car is not done, but is still consuming money. SO I'm not registering yet due to lack of funds. BUT - the Marauder is my fallback machine so either way, I'll be in with something (at some point).

In case it is helpful for others, I'm planning on about $1750 to cover gas ($700), hotels ($300), and 10 days of spending money.

I'm budgeting twice that, because I don't have a lock up converter and I'm not sharing a room with a guy who has 10 Million Hilton Honors points

$750 just for spending money? Are you buying Air Jordans along the way? Of course, if you are buying the Defining Moments packages then you will only be able to buy 2 sets.

If you don't get worse than 16 mpg, then $700 will probably work for you too. And If I was staying by myself all 8 stays, my budget would increase by $500.

Duane, I have no clue how much money we'll burn through, but figured $75/night was a good start. I know the TBU guys like the expensive hookers.
