"Widdison did a body off rottissori (sic) restoration."

Not really possible with a uni-body car.

The 174mph would have to have been done with 2.73 gears. You can put the car on a rotisserie, maybe more like "suspension off" would be a better term but it still means the same thing - you flip the car over and work on it upside down. I think this car gets hate every time it gets listed for sale. I don't know why.

If they're lying about the speed it hit, then I can see why it gets hate when it's listed for sale.

If everyone in this club was lying about their claims, I would hate everyone of your cars. The obvious answer is to systematically hate all that I encounter and demand proof otherwise.

The claims really don't sound outrageous...and it's a nice looking car. Running it through a calculator, he would have been pulling 4000 rpm in 5th with 2.73's, or 5500 rpm in 5th with 3.73's. That's with stock SC wheels/tires that were shown in one of the pics.

It's the slick yellow paint that allows it to travel at 175MPH

$100,000 Nascar tuned engines crank out 700+ and that gets them to the high 100s ? You don't just slap on a ported blower, some headers, and CAI to a stock SC and BING!.. 175.. What do you get with a few bolt ons... what maybeee 300HP?? Sorry, but that won't cut it.

FWIW, I actually kindof like the paint, but BS is BS.

Stock 5 speeds can do 155. 15MPH is not unreasonable.

you don't need 800 hp to go 175. it really doesn't take much. the aero of the tbird is pretty good compared to mustangs and camaros. if its over a 5 mile span, it only takes like 300hp to do 175. but what kind of cooling system does that car have to go wide open throttle over the span of a few miles? now if its a standing mile, you would need around 600hp to do 175.. about 800 for 200mph. and from 200+ its more about aerodynamics as to how much hp is takes to get 210, 220, etc..

I have no problem believing the hit the 172 or 175. I could see it happen with enough of a run.
