I try that all the time forgetting that only I can see the reflection of me in the monitor.

I made or modified a new pickup tube. Basically just drops straight down. The dipstick still works where it was as it only reads the top of the oil level. I'll work on getting some pics uploaded. I never realized how much wider a 3.8 is over 5.0. It's about 2.5" wider which made headers a lot of fun. I cut up and remade a set of mustang long tubes. Pass side was rather quick. Driver side was a complete redo. I think I made 15 splices to make them work. I had about 2" of clearance between the heads and engine bay while maintaining space for plugs.

Nice thing is that the trans mount matches perfect to the stock crossmember.

Almost there.... Wiring.fuel.driveshaft. And away she goes!

this pic includes the header prior to modification... cut the pan in half... top and bottom, flipped the bottom 180degrees and weled back together. Took some work but less than I imagined.

This is really cool! Got any pics of the whole car? My buddy has a 75 Maverick, and we swapped in a fuel injected 5.0, trick flow heads, explorer intake, and E303 cam, and a T5 with a 3.80TL 8" rear. The car is an absolute blast to drive! We like to joke that the car will do one of 2 things; either make you a better driver, or kill you. I imagine this will be pretty similar. Here's a couple videos of his car for your enjoyment

First drive. It still had stock heads/cam and an AOD trans at this point

And with the heads and cam installed.

Nice. What a tight fit. Looks like a job for solid motor mounts?

belly bar? the v8 cross bar thingy?

The car originally was a I6. Then I added the v8. So i never put anything else in besides the double hump tranny crossmember.

the i6 mavericks lacked the belly bar that went across the bottom engine bay. The v8 cars needed them due to the extra weight and power. Check the maverick forum for details.
