Now onto the next thing. Enough belt wrap on the crank pulley? Maybe I can incorporate an idler between the crank and alt.

I have about the same amount of belt wrap on my crank pulley after moving the alternator to the passenger side. I am thinking that in my case I am not turning a blower so I might be ok. Time will tell. If you decide to add a idler pulley post up pictures cuz I might have to do likewise

Yeah turning the blower is what I'm worried about. I was hoping I could move the alt back to use the tensioner for the jack shaft and just make some easy solid alt mounts.

Think I could make a C type bracket for the alt and mount a idler to that and tie it to the WP stud too.

Thats what I was figuring I would have to do. For now I will run it the way it is to see if there is a problem. Without a blower to run I might be OK. Anyway post pictures of your solution as it might be something I do as well

Doh I was missing something! I missed that you were running the jackshaft with the accy belt.

I think the idler will probly b required. With out the load of the blower, no problem, but the blower is a LOT of load.

It can't hurt to increase the wrap. The main thing to consider when building such a bracket is optimizing the position so that a common belt size can be used.

If I can successfully run the alt off the jackshaft I was thinking of using something like this. To remove the original accessory drive and maybe change boost too. I would really like to get rid of the blower tensioner in its factory location. And jackshaft for that matter.

Yeah I might have to lop off 1 rib if i go back to the stock jackshaft pulley as there isn't much in a 7 rib design, but plenty in 8 rib.

For what all that weighs, why not just dump the alternator and run a total loss system - only has to last a few minutes, right?

I can I was just hoping to use the tensioner system already in place. I'm not seeing any good places for a turnbuckle type tensioner at the moment with the low mount idea.

If you mean as a DD, yes, even with redundancies that could get old outside of the random competition, I'm sure.

No way that crank belt wrap is going to cut it. Leave the stock JS pulley alone and make up something for the alternator to run off the acc drive. You need to keep in mind that this thing is going to make 25psi boost.
