Non-Stock Tire Combos

Hey all, I just purchased 225/55ZR16 Firestone SZ50EP fronts and 255/50ZR16 Firestone SZ50EP rears (I hope they fit!) on my stock Tbird wheels. I'm wondering what other non-stock wheel combos people are running to include 16", 17" etc...

anyone, bueller, bueller, anyone? The 255/50/16 rears with 225/55/16 fronts work great btw.

Do the 255's rub when you turn ? do they give it the 4x4 appearance showing a lot of wheel well? I'm thinking of buying some 255's but i don't want the above problems. a pic of yours would be great. Thanks

I think that the 255's in 16" are only .6" smaller than stock. I doubt that would be noticeable. That's only .3" off of each side. IIRC, the 245's are about a full inch smaller, so that might be something to think about. Or just an excuse for some lowering springs. ;)

very close to stock, 255/50/17. 245/50 is better but harder to find in a good street tire. 245/45 is too short for me.

It does make a bigger space ... wouldn't go as far as to say 4x4 look ... as for the rubbing, I'm only running the 255/50/16s on the rears, the fronts are 225/55/16 (for imaginery weight savings) so no... no rubbing problems. I'd like to lower the car slightly, but weigh too many speed bumps in my apartment complex.
