Does anyone know at what throttle position % or engine rpm the compresser is supposed to kick out ?Which is it- r.p.m. or throttle ?Can it be altered?
Just another thought, is it possible that E.C.M. will turn off compress if coolant temp goes past a certain value ?

Issued solved

The a/c condenser was really plugged with dirt/dust/bug's etc.Restiction of air through it was causing head pressure(high side)to go over 275 p.s.i. which made high press switch shut off compresser at higher speeds (was o.k. around town).Because it is in front of rad the air flow restiction was limiting the engine cooling as well.I blew it out with air & low press water & killed 2 birds with 1 stone, cured both problems.

Good eye Doug!! they say the number one cause of freeze ups is not low refrigerant but dirty coils. my experience as well.
I hope it's chilly in there now. you'll need it till Saturday. :)
