The saga of the Turd 2: Texas Turd Edition

As some of you from FB may know
my 92 tbird is getting just a few upgrades , bear with me when i say a few lol... its a long read you have been warned

After owning this car for 3+ yrs in march its the 4th yr ive had it and lately this time it has evolved from the junk it once was i thank sccoa because if sccoa did not exist i had ditched this car a long time ago.

No i dont care it had a wreck and no i dont care about 1000 other cars being cleaner or better its what i have ive learned about everything i know so far with it and to me thats much more valuable than a paper or a collectors edition this and that..

I have removed about every bolt this car has and tried to improve it as much as i can

So here is what is happening now

    Blower set up:
I have ditched my manny SC coated mp3 blower with MP rotors and pulleys etc
    and got Miller's
1.7L AR set up with an enlarged inlet and custom outlet and low intake manifold

    Top end:
i also aquired Roadhawg's set of SCU heads
quite a serious set of cylinder heads
I dont know exact details just know its 1.94/1.70 valves
    yella terra adjustable valvetrain etc

    Motor:
Ihave also had Xr7dave build me a forged shortblock and assemble the full motor for me
just an SCU build , you know u can expect the top notch stuff from here
    it is remaining a 3.8
    JE coated pistons
    h beam rods
    windage tray
    new water pump
    hv oil pump
    SCU cam
arp main studs and arp headstuds

So far these will make a huge impact from what it ever was before.

    Now it doesnt stop there

    The transmission:
the already home built AOD with almost all upgrades i could find if it doesnt last i will re do it until then it will stay it
received a lentech Street terminator 2 vb

    Drivetrain wise:

also -8an feed -6an return lines
    80LB siemens deka injectors
    Custom AR fuel rails
    bbk adjustable FPR

    Cooling system:
this is staying pretty much the same as before
    29x19x3 full aluminum radiator
adding a mark 8 fan to it

    Air charge cooling:
is still my same huge 36x14x4 Fmic set up with 2.75" piping i will however get some pipes welded
adding 2 puller fans to the IC and 1 pusher fan on the condenser

    Air intake:
    i have ditched the 85mm C&L
and gone slot maf on my previews 4" intake pipe
however i will be using a 95mm MP TB that meets the enlarged 95mm AR inlet

    Exhaust :
    redoing complete exhaust system
dual stainless mandrel bend 2.5 kit
    magnaflow resonator
    keeping borla mufflers

lift off 3" light weight hood
    this alone removed about 60lbs

i also got a pair of 16x8 cobra Rs that will receive 28x10 hoosier slicks

    Interior:
    building a custom speedo
    gutted undercarpeting
redoing the interior colors and possibly ditching the stock seats
also have an 8pt roll bar/ cage that will come in some time soon

Thats as much as i can top off my head i will began to post pictures and updates of my progress as it goes along

Sadly this was way too much to finish in a small time frame so it will take longer but it will get finished

Btw thanks to all the ppl who have sold me parts and given me a break with prices over the yrs its cost me alot so far and its not even done it would have been double had i not bought most my parts from you guys
thank you for all the tips and teachings as well
and specially Dave Dalke thats helped me out throughout the time ive owned it

Now you all can start guessing what it will make or what it will run... i have my own expectations for it lol  and hope to be done for shootout this year

I have always enjoyed your posts on FB and on here. Good luck with the build. Looks like you put a great deal of thought into your upgrades. I am sure it will be one fast lead sled...

    Miguel,

Looks like you have everything covered for running mid 11s off the bottle, and mid 10s with the nitrous. Looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Sounds like a great build! I can only imagine the money that you'd spent. It's interesting that you said that you don't care that your car was in a wreck.....mine is a rebuilt status, from various donor cars. The guy that I bought it off of had done it, and had done a pretty good job.

Thanks buddy yes sadly it was in a very minor wreck the damage was little to none really but insurances rather declare it salvage as a total loss and pay less than what its worth fixing in their books
