first 1/4 mile runs this year lots of bugs to work on but I did run a new best

1.6202 60 foot
100.38@6.99 1/8
10.9076@126.98 1/4

finally got my 10's. really only change in the car was going from a 33% od MPX w/coated rotors to a 0% od 2.3 tvs 4* LESS timing car runs smooth as heck but spins the hoosers every time I try to launch hard. I did get a 1.55 60' later but the car let loose after that.

Wow Whitey must have a solid rear in it too.

Nice 164. Its is awesome how these things wake up with just a blower swap.

Thanks, Yes what a diffrence the TVS made shaved 7 tenths off and added 7.5 mph and the car runs 10 times nicer. For once no belt slip:eek:

Here is a copy of the time slip.

Nice pass....the 60' still has lots of meat in it....that thing will be going even quicker for sure.

Went to a street night last night to make some shakedown passes with the car, track prep was non existent
. Discovered that the alternator was dead, but I managed to charge the battery up and make a couple of passes on the battery. Second pass I made a full pass but spun really bad and had no timing in the tune up. Is it bad that I'm not happy with a 10.4??

Good news is I found something wrong that is easy to fix and will head back out next week AND the scale was open and it looks like the car weighs about 200# less than it did last year even after putting the full cage in it.

Still a nice run for the first time out and bad track prep, but I see your mph is way down were you seeing big voltage dips with the bad alt? what alt are you running? I keep frying the mustang 6g's every time I run them hard.

The alternator was a PA Performance 3G that was at least 7 or 8 years old....voltage was certainly low

Good job Smitty, so I guess you will be racing Kurt K in Pro Street. Wow, what if an MPX were to beat a 2.0 AR ???

David

David,
it is actually the MPIII I won in the 2005 Shootout raffle! I still it has some left in it since it spins off the line if I activate the nitrous right off the line!

A fresh set of tires should knock off another few tenths!!

I took the car out last Friday and it ran a 10.2?? but it is still not running right. I changed out the alternator with an elcheapo NAPA 130a deal but didn't check the new battery. Anyhow I get to the track and my voltage is only at about 10v, the car usually runs between 13 & 14. I made the best of it for a night but the car was not running well the I ran the thing out of gas 1/2 way down the track on my 3rd pass and decided to call it a night.

I need to be a bit more thorough about getting this fixed.
