So as most of you know i did not finish my old 92 Tbird build that i had an Autorotor and nice scu built motor for instead i made a big heap and purchased one of the cars i looked up to from the 1st day i joined sccoa.
It is David's Ol Dart 347 Turbo which he went 10.04 at 139 with the old motor
I have been fighting this car for months now to make it a realibale street monster its not an easy task its quite a patience game
i love it the car is a brute its what i wanted my original car to be in the first place
So far i have ran 11.3 at 9-10psi and 11.1 at 12psi on street pump/meth tune while having electrical system issues, coolant system issues , among other things here and there
Last time i ran 11.1 at 120 letting off near the end due to getting a bit sketchy near the end truck next to me was getting sketchy as well i lost 4-6mph car has been trapping 124-127
A list of things ive done so far to the car from the get go
-replaced alternator
-replaced battery
-wrapped the turbo hotside
-replaced the window regulator
-replaced Throttle body
-i mounted 295/45 MT drag radials on 17x9 cobra R rims wwhich is what i daily
-i replaced the stock hood with a lift off super light cowl hood with a heat extractor vent i wanted something different than everyone elses
-i relocated the front mount intercooler about 6" fwd and 3" lower to allow for better airflow to radiator
-i added 2 intercooler fans
-i relocated my trans cooler
-rewired each fan with its own relay
-re wired the mark 8 fan
-added a secondary battery in the trunk
-added a xenon spoiler
-i replaced radiator cap and messed with my idle settings
-i replaced both 255 walbro pumps with new e85 compatible dual 340lph aeromotive pumps
At this point i have fixed the overheating issues and the car is great
The electrical system keeps killing itself so i have a 300amp 3g built alternator with self exciting voltage regulator and with dual yellow top batteries this should fix my problem completely i hope
-i also built an alternator heatshield
-replaced the odometer gears
-replaced the ignition switch
-replaced the turn signal switch
-i replaced the tensioner since it broke off
-i upgraded tensioner pulley and idler pulley with new belt
And i may be forgetting stuff but slowly its becoming more reliable i have been left stranded so many times the % chance to be stranded was a high 70-95%
But now its down to a 30ish % or less
-im currently re sealing the transmission to get rid of a trans leak
-installing an aftermarket shifter and shift light to help me shift on optimum points
I am soon going to install alum LCA arms and Derling bushings , subframe connectors, 50/50 lakewood rear shocks and have a pair of 17x5 front runners ill be using with 28x11.5x16 hoosier QTPs
I plan to do much better on the suspension later on but at this moment im just recycling what i can use from my leftover parts
I hope i can have a car reliable to drive to and from anywhere and run mid high 10s on the street trim
I have a trailer but i want to be able to drive the car to and from track without trailering it
I hope once i am ready i can step up to the race tune and go 9s
Like everything i can never leave anything alone... ill post some pictures once i re size them
