J-mod question

I'm starting to collect parts to get my 95 4.6 LX back on the road as my daily driver again. One part of the plan is J-modding the transmission, but I'm not sure what setting I should go for. The car has 3.73 gears, and while the engine is currently pretty weak, I'm probably going to go with an Explorer engine for now. More HP in the future is likely.

So do I go for the mild, mid, or 300hp-spec J-mod?

How much more HP is likely in the future? Depending on that answer, I would either suggest the 300-450 setup or the 450+ setup.

Trick Flow heads and maybe some mild cams, wherever that gets me. I don't see me going with forced induction on this car.

Would a J-mod for that level of power have any ill effects on drivability at lower power levels?

I'd probably stick to the 300-450 setup then. And no, that setup is quite tolerable. I really think you'll be happy going that route.
