On this day in 1965, the Shelby GT 350, a version of a Ford Mustang sports car developed by the American auto racer and car designer Carroll Shelby, is launched. I had one of those first cars.

That was a long time ago and I sold it the following year for a GT fairlane... Yes that was a very dumb move on my part.. I did make up for it by buying a 1970 GT 350 that to this day I still have....Rich
Too many cars, too little time to drive them. Anything less than 500 cubes is a small block. If you slow down in life you will get run over..

Rich, I thought 69 was the last year for any Shelby Mustang models?

the last cars were built in 1969 as 69 cars. There were 315 cars that never sold and Ford got the gov. to look the other way when they were retitled as 1970's They only changed the one digit that shows the year of the car and sold them as 1970's This alone makes them one of the rarest Shelbys out there..
