    Shift squeal

Squeal sound is only heard when manually shifting from 1st to 2nd. Not heard in regular, computer controlled shifting. I'm assuming it is because I'm the one dragging out the gear, then shifting. I rarely do that shift, because of the squeal sound. Also, I'm pretty sure my 'shift-up' light is not working. Probably just a blown bulb. Just something else added to the ever-growing to-do list....

Are you sure the sound is coming from the trans? Most of the time, a squeal during a high rpm shift is the belt slipping a little bit as the rpms suddenly drop while the accessories are still spun up.

Well that seems more logical. I wasn't sure if it was a problem or not.
