    Rear main seal

Well I finally got around to pulling my transmission out and I am looking for some advice on replacing the rear main seal. I have never changed a 1 piece like this before. It doesn't seem to be leaking but I figured it would be good to change it now. Is this a good idea or am I opening up a can of worms.

    Good afternoon

Yes change the seal. Check first for a previous installed rear crankshaft sleeve. If it was installed and you have no indication of a leak I would leave it alone. If the sleeve was not installed doing so will ensure the seal rides on a smooth non defective surface.

    Good Luck.

    Good evening

Yes the seal and sleeve will work. I would order from ROCK AUTO for a better price.
