Couple of issues and questions

I have a two part question here. One, I am getting water inside my doors, and, have narrowed down where it is coming from. It is coming down through the lower window trim, right at where the side view mirrors meet the trim (see the picture with the screwdriver pointing to where the water comes in from).

I was wondering what you all think I can do to seal the area up?

Second question is, the edge of the side view mirror at the bottom....should be that flush and right up next to the lower window trim, or, should it be sitting on it a bit (as, that is how it was before I took them off). Reason I ask about this is because if it sits on top of it a bit, the other side then lays flush against the door, but, if I seat the edge of the mirror next to the window trim, the other end then sits up and is not flush with the vehicle.

I attached some pictures to hopefully show a little better, what I am talking about.

Good evening

For the The outside mirror issue the triangle gasket is the likely problem. I don't know if a replacement is available new. You can go to your local salvage yard and locate 1989 - 1997 Thunderbird or 1993 - 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII for a serviceable replacement.
