I tried that too. I heard that to sensor from the 2.3 litre 89 to 94 ranger might work. Has anyone tried it?

I purchased a crank sensor from a 2.3 to compare it in person to the SC sensor....They're nothing a like even though the stock pictures used on Rockauto look very similar.

    I tried it the swap

First, you have to rework the wiring and change the plug from a female to male plug.
Then you will need to build a new bracket to make it fit. Even so, Iím not sure .it will work.

Here is the Facebook post on it

Good info, thanks - For anyone working this type of mod, be sure to maintain OE-style wire shielding and 'case grounds' to help avoid EMI.

Hi, after reading this post I decided I should locate myself a crank spare crank sensor in case i ever needed 1 and because they obviously are becoming harder to find. I called Napa and they said the part is obsolete. I looked online at Rock auto and they appear available part # 1F2E6C315AA, PC51. The pic of the crank sensor does look different then our crank sensors and im wondering is this the right crank sensor part for our cars 89-93 SC?

In the picture with the two sensors above, the one on the right is the correct sensor for a 89 to 93 sc
