What is that cord coming out of the box on the wall?? looks like a jiffy fix for some lights?? otherwise your ride is looking good....Rich
Too many cars, too little time to drive them. Anything less than 500 cubes is a small block. If you slow down in life you will get run over..

The orange one? That is a 10 guage for my lift. I am going to run it up stairs and over eventually when I eliminate some of my upstairs for some additional clearance above the lift.

Fyi they are extremely relaxed on such things in my county. I literally installed a new fuse box at my old house and the electric company came out pulled the meter and put it back in for me. Zero inspections.... I assure you its 110% safe just not pretty I will run it inside the wall and in the ceiling when I cut it out probably next year

Oops, I've already tried different cam sensors. My car actually doesn't seem to run differently when the tach stops working, it's just unnerving driving for miles without the tach signal and a check engine light. I'm pretty sure that my quarterhorse still shows rpms on data logs, but it has been a while since I've checked that.

I think the tach bounce is when the ECU does a quick on-the-fly drive-cycle sensor check - it runs ok because certain default sensor values are used when it's still not happy with live data. Lack of actionable signal can be from not only a faulty sensor/module, but wiring and grounds as well, so best to keep looking. If the components in question are ok (swapped doesn't help), I'd focus on harnesses, connectors and grounds.

Remember that corrosion likes to hide, so if a given harness looks good on the outside, it might be compromised inside, at the pins, etc. I've seen cam sensor issues that turned out to be that the red rubber gasket in it's connector was doubled up, keeping the connector from fully seating & the pins from making reliable contact. Have you tried swapping at least the front upper harness for the crank/cam/DIS?

While cleaning up the timing gasket silicone i dropped a razor blade down into the pan and couldn't get it shook back to the front so I had to drop the pan again wheeee... finally got it all sealed up and made two new water pump studs (m8x1.25) and then I managed to snake the pass side front brake line out. Next will be replace all the hard lines while the engine is out and its easy to get to. Then I can put the new accumulator on the ac and the new ac lines. Also clean up the vacuum line mess behind the motor. Make an egr block off plate etc.

Yesterday after work I managed to degrease the engine bay. I also welded a plug in the manifold to delete the egr. And rebuilt the motor mounts. The source of this cars mystery oil leak was a hole rubbed in the pan from broken mounts on the old motor. I am going to por15 a few surface rust spots under the hood mainly under the brake booster and maybe rattle can the bay then the engine goes in. I also managed to clean up the shop a little bit.

Rattle canned the engine bay after using por15 on any surface rust spots I found. Under the master cyl it had some from brake fluid leakage i assume. Installed motor mounts and exhaust manifolds and flywheel. Hopefully when i get home this evening I can drop it in
