    automatic ride control

Have been attempting to figure out the scrapping noise in passenger side wheel well. I am replacing sway bar links, inner/ outer tie rods, all of which are toast. Going to replace shocks, however before I remove them want to make sure I can find replacements. Noticed they are "automatic ride control" there are wires going to suspension. Does my inherited 91" Thunderbird SC take a special shock and where might I find them. Not going to replace spring due to car being lowered via use of lowering spring which I want to keep. Any suggestions?

Yes, special. There are currently no new replacement units available, however.

If at all possible, it is best to keep what you have if you wish to retain the OE system.
