Went to the junkyard today and removed these parts from a 96 Cougar with a dark brown interior. We all know how fragile the gauge cluster is in particular. One of the two top attachment points crumbled the second I started removing the screw. The three bottom attachment points made it out in one piece, but only barely. I attempted to reinforce them with some credit card stock, but can't say for sure if that will make any difference. I do have before and after pics so you can decide for yourself if you're comfortable with the condition of this part.
The air vent and mounting points for the rear defrost switch are both in great shape. No problems there.
Make me an offer. This piece isn't perfect, but maybe it's better than what you have. If so, I'm open to offers that cover what I paid for it, shipping, and a bit for my time.
EDIT: One more small tab broke as I was handling the piece. Man, these things are fragile. It's the last picture below.
