My 89 Xr7 launced a rod yesterday(hole in oil pan). My questions are this:
1. Why not use a 3.8 from a 94+ mustang. Complete engines go for $500 from MPS?
2. How much is involved in swapping a 5.0 into this car, as the 91's used 5.0's? Complete motors are about $600.
3. If I decide to rebuild the damaged SC 3.8, why not do a stroker motor? And does anyone make a kit? I know of at least ten different companines doing strokers for 5.0's.
Although I have other choices to drive, the Cougar was a very comfortable car, so I would like to save it.
