T'Bird Trivia - Rear Spindles the Same?

Are all of the Thunderbird '89-'97 and '89-'92 Cougar XR7 rear spindles the same regardless of whether they had 8.8 or 7.5 carriers, and disc or drum brakes?

From what I have seen (and I'm not saying there aren't exceptions to this) the drum brake spindles were not drilled and tapped for the caliper mounting bolts. The material is there, but the extra process was not done. So you could theoretically do it yourself, but it is just one more thing that can go wrong.

Super Ford did a brake upgrade on a rear drum to disk brake on a Tbird some years back. The rear spindles needed the tapped holes drilled out for the caliper bracket bolts. Some other minor grinding was also required to get the disks to fit.

I believe the only variation in the rear spindles is this drum vs. disk difference regardless of ring gear size.
