Difference between early and late short block?

Hey all, it looks like I've found a replacement short block for my '94... the replacement engine also has around 8x,xxx miles on it. I'm not sure what year bird it is from. Does it make a difference? I remember reading something about the camshaft on the late models being different? I've got a tuner in the mail... will I need to have a different program on the computer if it does end up being an earlier model? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to and early model vs. a late model short block ? (assuming that there is a difference).
Thanks,
Paul

Upgrades for '94:

- Bushed connecting rods with floating pins
- Windage Tray
- Lame cam compared to 89-93
- Different harmonic balancer
- 20% higher volume oil pump
- Rumored to be 8.4 versus 8.2 compression ratio

That's about it for the shortblock. It would fit right in and work with the same tuner file.
