Potential NEW info and NEW pricing for ARP studs!!

I don't know the validity of this, but here it is:

I found out today that the ARP kit for the Chevy V6 is exactly the same as the SC kit except it has the 8 shorter (3.75") studs. The part number is 233-4003 (hex) or 233-4303 (12 pt). And for some reason it's a lot cheaper than the SC kit - Summit has the hex kit for $75. (info by Rob Noth)
Maybe Ed can look this application up through keystone.

Now that would be awefully damned nice to know!!!

If that turns out to be true, that's a nice find, Bill!

    Cheers,

That price is USD btw. However, they should be available up here for about $110-125 based on that price level.

You might want to ask Tom if that is not what he is using. I've seen the new ones from ARP that he is using and they are the correct length for our cars and have hex nuts not 12 points. Maybe these are the very ones Rob Noth is talking about. If they are we ain;t getting no deals on those from Tom, not at $200.00 Canadian.

Any idea as to whether this can be trusted or not??? I'd really like to know. If it's true, then as soon as I can afford it (after I pay for my 42lb/hr injectors and Harris Pulley, and for the port-work completed by Ryan), then I'll be picking up a set.

Does anyone have Rob Noth's email address?

    Best regards,

    Sean

Sean, those part #s are accurate, I am the one that went through trial and error with a client to get the correct lengths and then crossed it over to a kit about 8 months ago. Maybe some day ARP will actually correct the SC kit then again, they wouldnt be making as much then so probably not.

ARP does make ones just for the SC now part # 153-4001 Hex nuts and 153-4203 for the 12-point nuts.

Thanks, Paul! I know what I'll be picking up for when I rebuild that spare motor.

Well, Keystone is telling me both of those numbers are special order, they only have pricing on the hex nut kit ... we would have to sell it for about $180 + taxes, that's assuming we wait 4 - 5 weeks for it on their next ARP stock order. Otherwise an extra $25 or so for special shipping. So maybe Tom's aren't such a bad deal ... or order a set from Summit Racing by USPS, would still be cheaper by the time it made it across the border.

    cheers

    Ed,

Thanks for looking into this for us.

Summit Racing sounds reasonable in this case.
