My SC's back home after it's winter sleep, and the ABS light was actually off for a few days. Well I knew it was too good to last. Last year I had the brown relay replaced, because it failed. I have tried the key on/engine off test. After pumping the pedal 25 times, the ABS pump motor comes on and runs for a while, then stops (after the accumlator charges - I believe). The ABS light still stays on. Brakes work ok, except the ABS does not.
I purchased an ECM/ABS code reader from Can Tire, but it does not appear able to retreive the ABS codes....I think I will return it.
My ARC is acting up (still). I suspected one of the rear shock valves was stuck, oiled them both , but the "FIRM" light still flashes. It still sounds like something is wrong in the rear shock. When I first turn on the ignition, with the ARC set in "Auto", I can hear what I think is the drivers side actuator/shock "thumping".
What's strange is that when I leave the shocks setting in "Firm", sometimes the ABS light will go off. Is there a "tie-in" between the ABS and ARC???? It cost me $500.00 last year to have the Ford dealer do nothing more than really change the relay, and I don't intend on taking it back there....
Any other ideas amyone???? Thanks....Greg Swiercz
