Are all SC cranks the same?

I am getting a crank from one of the guys on the for sale boards, and In my research through google, i've come across something like the DuraCast crank or something like that?

Does anyone have any more info on those? Are they weaker than the forged ones?

And does anyone know about what years/types were internally and what years/types were externally balanced?

Thanks,
DMX

Duracast

Duracasts were only in the '89's. All the rest, from 90 to 95 are the same, and are forged. You can quickly identify a duracast unit by a distinct sharp parting line, where halves of the mold met. Forgings have a "smudged" parting line.

Forgings are stronger.

Be SURE it's a SC Crank

The standard 3.8L version won't fit - bearings are different size(and I don't think it was rated for the SC torque).

ok sweet ! :)

Just one more thing, can anyone tell me the years the forged ones were internally balanced, and when they were externally balanced?
