Factory options

I had noticed a thread commenting on how people overprice their SCs due to options they think are rare and, having done so myself, I was just curious to see what options actually ARE a bit harder to find, so I will start this thread. Oh, and after you list your options, you may want to make a note of which ones are still in tact/not modded.

Year: 1992
Exterior color: Red (oooohhhh yeah)
Interior color: Black (a nice combo)
Interior material: Leather/tweed
Transmission: 5spd
Stereo: AM/FM/CD/Cassette
Other options: Sunroof
Auto dimming mirror
Mileage: 145k young

I think that just about sums it up. Everything from the factory is in tact on mine seeing it is (sigh) factory stock. Heh. I'm sure this should be interesting.

Aluminum space saver wheel for spare on older SC.
Standard seat belts in the older SCs (Canada?)
Blue Mist paint or Chameleon on a 95-5 SC .
1996 red paint on a July built 95 SC

PS: Was the radio delete, right mirror delete, larger gas tank, or diferent rear ratios an option on the older SCs like they were on the N/A bids? Also noticed in shop manual words to remove a window crank for those equiped. Thought all 89-97 Birds had electric windows. Does anyone know?

My SC only had the moonroof opt when I got it. I found an LX in a wrecking yard with all the other opts. I stripped the thing and dug out the wiring info in my shop manual. Ended up paying $80 for everything including the wiring harnesses.

I don't think there was ever a radio, right mirror delete or a not power windows MN-12. The gas tanks did change size due to the exhaust route change, but there was never a bigger option for a MN-12. Some say the early SC's (89's) had the option on the automatics of either the 3.08 or 3.27.

Also on the aluminum spare, its not just a newer SC option, I don't think anyone really knows which got the aluminum spare and which got the steel as both my 91 and 94 had the steel.

89 SC Black exterior (reeeaal original there) Gray leather interior Dual power seats JBL premium sound tape and cd 10" woofer and 200 watt amp Auto diming mirror Keyless entry And 100k on car 1500 on engine and thats all thats stock everything else has been ripped out and replaced

I ordered new and drove a 5.0 P-Track '91 T-Bird with the radio and right mirror delete options. Did not have budget for the larger gas tank, but it was on order sheet (MN-12). Heck I just wondered if possible for the SC.

The Al spare I found in a 90-5 I bought this last year. Rare whether an option or not I figure. There was a full size spare option but probably not on SC.

You never know what a fleet company can order that the public cannot, or what was in the order book not found in the showroom brochure. So I felt the questions were appropriate.

Probably a miss-print in the manual but if ever there is a manual window crank found I want it, not for rarity but because I don't like power windows. So I would kinda like to know.......Regards, Doug
PS: Should I stick my head in the sand and say nothing out of the box?

1995, 5 Speed
Elcetric Red Clear Coat Met (non-red red)
Mocha Cloth/Leather/Vinyl
Preferred Equip Pkg 157A, which was standard for all 95 SCs
Front Floormats $30.00 (The Only Option).
Front License Plate Bracket (No Charge).
The most striped down SC I could find.

Black on black leather
5spd
Dual power seats
Auto lamp and auto dimming mirror
JBL Audio w/CD player and subwoofer
Auto climate
Keyless entry and alarm
Power antenna
Auto mirrors
Cornering lights
Moonroof
SC front bumper
VMM
Air conditioning (R134A)
180,000 miles presumably on the original engine. Everything works except the alarm (automatically goes off after setting it) and the CD player when it's cold. Subwoofer was replaced with a Bazooka type tube. Everything is original right down to the exhaust. Long live my poor '91.

1995
Black on tan leather
5spd
Dual power seats
Premium sound (got screwed on the JBL)
auto climate
keyless/remote entry
power antenna
moonroof
85,000 miles total, 15,000 miles on engine replaced under recall. Alpine MP3 player and 12" sub. Differential out of a Cobra w/ 3.27 gears. Exhaust manifold back exhaust.

I think my '91 has just about every option available. Are there any it's missing? I kind of miss driving it. Oh well, a 460 should make it feel better.

Earlier was going to mention that I had seen an SC police car. Does anyone know if there were special features to order this way? Does anyone have one, or know where one is?

Listed my 95 earlier here is a pic.

Saw a 91 bird with manual mirror...

Here in Chicago at the local U pull it. Teal colored with manual drivers side mirror, no passenger side mirror, and both seats were manual. Wish I had the digital with me at the time.

Cary Jackson,
Was the Bird you saw an SC or N/A? Lot of the N/A Birds had manual seats and manual mirrors, and of course the right mirror delete option was available. I am always wanting to know how little one could get on an SC.
