Quick rear main seal ??? PIC

I need to know if there are any tricks to getting off the rear main seal. I have holes in it where I put drywall screws to hopefully pull the seal out, but with no luck, the screws just pull out.

Any help is great. Here is a pic of what I got so far.

Just put a screwdriver between the seal and the crank and carefully bend it out. Don't hurt the edge on the crank.

I dont want to risk gouging the crank, then I'll have a much bigger leak than the one I am trying to fix. I guess I can stick the scratch-all/punch between the crank and the seal and do what you suggested. I just dont trust the screwdriver getting in there without damage, that seal is tight as ever against both sides.

Thanks for the reply

Try a pick and stick it in the seal and pry it out. I’ll leave out being careful since you are aware.

Perhaps wrapping any metal object you insert to remove the seal in electrical tape or other soft material will reduce the possibility of damage..
