Thread: Anyone in NY/NJ/CT area interested in Dyno time?

Anyone in NY/NJ/CT area interested in Dyno time?

We're looking to set up a day of dyno time at a shop somewhere in the NY/NJ/CT area. Anyone that is interested, please respond here, or write to me at [email protected]. If we get enough people, we'll rent a place for the day, and split the costs. There will certainly be an EEC tuner friendly person there along with equipment to hook to 91 and newer birds to read processor output. This is very preliminary at this point. We don't even have the place or day set yet. We're just trying to see if anyone is interested.

We've actually contacted them, and they want big bucks. $120/hr if you rent it all day. We're looking around to see if they're on par for the area, or outrageously priced. They also want $50/dyno pull if you want to go in by yourself and not pay for a whole day. Ouch.

Danny's Pro Performance in Keyport, NJ

Crazy Horse in South Amboy, NJ

Both have wideband 02 & are $500/day at the dyno. Unlimited pulls & do not have to be consecutive of course.

$500 for how many hours? Is this the wideband that screws into an O2 bung or the up the talepipe kind?

I've yet to go to this place, but the prices seem fairly reasonable. It's in Bristol, CT.

Both Crazy Horse & Danny's are $500/day and that is 9am-5pm. And the wideband O2 "takes it up the tailpipe!"

I've been to both. I like Danny's better because he is more concerned about how to improve the car between runs than just making the pulls for you. When I was there one day doing a few pulls, he had some mustang guy doing pulls also, and he was helping the kid try to get more by swapping the intake with him between pulls & a few other things that mustang guys do for quick improvements. Danny also has 2 mid-10 stangs that lift the wheels feet off the ground. He's pretty good. In fact, in the parking lot, you'll find Evan Smith's stang. It's always there. Evan works on it there with Danny. He's a helpful fella. Just my opinion though.

the tail pipe sniffer is only affected by cats at low rpm's. Once you hit 3500-4000, the readings are accurate because of the speed the air is moving.

Well Brian would have more dyno experience then I so you can listen to him..However doing emmisions testing on a dyno I can tell you that the cats will give you a different reading on the same car at all rpm's without a doubt..Same car with cats, without, then with high flows...Now I can only assume that if the readings are *much different* then tuning a car with cats using just a tailpipe sniffer would be off..Of course we do not create a tune based solely on that..I'm up to debate on this being I will be tuning my car with cats
