Get the Magnum Powers cold air divider

And this will help you. It allows you to get cold air and seperate the engine compartment heat from the air filter.

cold air intake

Looks like a good idea I have the fancy chrome one with the blue rubber that goes into the fenderwell I will probably switch to a 3 inch piece of duct pipe like you did know anybody that wants a fancy intake system?

Not too shabby for 6 bucks but it's not a cold air intake, it's a hot air intake. It's not a cai until you mount it in your fenderwell or find a way for it to suck up cold air.

lol viagra... does kinda look like a..... haha... dude whered you get the pipe from? like home depot or something? not a bad idea. saved you about 100 bucks... right on!

Nice i guess, but why is what i want to know ?

Is that the stock MAFS ?

And how much was that filter ?

well the filter was 12 bucks from some shop here by my house... and as for the MAF it is not stock. Its one of those ones that have like a straight tube down the middle going up and down ... i removed the center tube for more airflow...

As in a 70mm MAF from the 94+ cars?

Looks like a nice setup; and certainly about the lowest price I've ever seen anyone make an intake for. Only thing about that MAF.. I have heard that removing the interior core disturbs the flow of air inside the unit causing turbulance, and hence bad air readings. This actually makes it worse than an unmodified unit. See the articles at this site for more information about this. I think there are several cheaper options to buying a new aftermarket MAF sensor if you want to upgrade.. especially for older cars.

hey well i guess from a 94... cuz when i first saw it i thought mines was like a cheap one.. but then i read and saw some dudes instructions on how to remove the thingy.. and i did it...
well removing that center piece doesnt give me turbulence.. the only time ive had turbulence was when the filter fell off in the freeway... and im guessing it caused the MAF sensor to just give up and the engine died... well dont know dudes... anything else?

I'd hate to break it to ya, but the clamps on the MAF and TB are useless on the exhaust...err intake pipe...err tube.

Yeah, the only thing he can hope for, is that nothing wobbles loose, with such a setup. He can resort into getting rubber fittings, for each side. With those, at least he'll be guaranteed more of a secure/snug fit.

Another thing I noticed, that was disturbing - the air filter is mounted INSIDE the MAF ring, not OUTSIDE. This will restrict some incoming airflow.

No offence, but I think he'd get better overall results, from the stock air tube.

Maybe we should vent off of the A/C and get some REAL cold air.

I also did not notice this. There are several ways I can think to fix this, realizing that I can not see pipe diameters very well.

One, either find short sections of rubber/plastic hose with sufficient diameter to clamp to air filter/maf/tube & throttlebody/tube so that the clamp will allow a tight fit, or check the stock hose to see if it can be cut to fit.

Another possibility, try just replacing that metal tube with your stock air hose, or another rubber hose altogether.

In any case from what I can tell your problem lies in the fact that you are trying to tighten the clamp around metal. Instead you want to tighten the clamp around a pliable material (such as rubber hose) and insert the metal tube into it.

well i see most of u guys have ur heads in ur a$$...
if u guys would of asked... i would of told u that the intake tube and the MAF sensor are connected with a Rubber Connecter. Its about 1 inch wide.. thats why u see both HOSE CLAMPS around it... The thing doesnt loosen up. I checked for that. As for the FILTER being in the MAF yes you are correct... I have fixed that already.

any other stuff you guys wanna try to throw at me?

Well, first one should remove their own cranium from the rectal orifice and wipe off their eyes before a post like that.
We were poking fun at you - can you take a joke?

I cannot see from the picture you posted that your intake has any rubber couplings on the metal piping. It's not immediately obvious in your picture.

hahahaha, given your history of posts/threads here I think you should retract that statement, if you were even being serious in the first place.
