Intake cleaning

Is there any way to clean the throttle body and all the IC tubes, plenum etc? Since I read on hear we can't use any throttle body cleaner sprayed into the intake and then run it to flush everything out.

The only real way to be safe is to remove stuff and clean it. You aren't supose to clean the Throttle Body because the air bypass valve for the idle will be damaged by carb cleaner. I would also think that the coating on the SC may be damaged. Spraying any junk though the intake can't be good for the motor.

well i wish i knew this info yesterday i went ahead and used throttle body cleaner and it did a very good job cleaning all that grime outa the TB i don't think it hurt anything but i will never do it again.....just goes to show never trust an autozone monkey

If you start having idle problems, then you may want to check out your IAC Valve on the TB. After cleaning mine, I had a huge fuel dumping problem! Turns out I screwed up my IAC Valve..
