What do these codes mean?

Hey Jason, sorry I didn't get back to
you sooner but I finally had a chance
to try out my new Ford code reader
I bought at CTC the other day.
These are the codes I got with the KOEO

21 ECT sensor
24 ACT sensor

This kind of fits since I've been having
trouble with it wanting to overheat (that's
why I haven't been able to drive it yet)
The rad fan doesn't want to work either,
and it starts okay but idles like crap.

If anybody has any suggestions or has
experienced this before I'd appreciate your
help. Thanks

looking the codes up tells me you might have a bad EEC temp sensor for code 21 and 24 looks like your air charge temperature sensor is gone. They may not be gone but have a lose connection or dirt in them I would clean them first.
A way to test the rad fan is to just but power to it and see it will turn. Now reading the part about the car not idling bad sounds like the EEC temp sensor is gone same proplem I had. what it's trying to the EEC is that car is worm when it's real cold still.
Hope that helps if not let me know.

Thanks for replying so soon Jason. But I guess
I didn't go into enough detail. I replaced the ECT sensor
a couple weeks ago - still overheats. I replaced the ACT
sensor yesterday - still overheats. I replaced the t-stat
a couple weeks ago too - still overheats ( had lots of fun
getting that sucker to stop leaking though - redid it about
3 times before it would stop leaking) I know this is going
to sound like a REALLY dumb question but here goes
anyway - which way does the t-stat sit when putting
it back in the t-stat housing?

What is the difference between the t-stat? Some are
for 180 and some are for 190?

As far as the fan goes I can hot wire it and it works, and
have it wired so I can turn it on when the car's running
but it still overheats. I think it's still the original rad so
I'm beginning to wonder if it just needs a new rad????
Or maybe it's the IRCM????????????
Or maybe it's the EEC?????????????

Help please!!!!!!!!!!!

your welcome.
Well one side of the t-stat should say to the rad. After reading what you hace said it I would go with it being your IRCM is gone since it runs the fans and tells what temp the ECT is at to the EEC. The ACT will not stop the car from over heating.

Sorry to ask this but did you replace the ECT or the gauge temp sensor because this has happen to people befor where they get the wrong one with out knowing it. The one you want has more then one wire.

Yes the rad might be geting old and filled with crap. You could do a flush of it but if your going to do that remove it from the car or do it in a way that you only flush the RAD not the motor since you dont want to remove build up in there that might give you a leak some place. This or it's time for a re-core

Hey Jason thanks for the info!

I replaced the ECT sensor which has a wiring
harness with more than one wire, not the gauge
temp sender which I think is by the t-stat housing
and has a wire soldered to it. Are those the only
"sensors" the SC has that check for coolant temp?
