By the way, you can click on the results to see who voted for what.

I intentionally activated that option in the poll.

    Anonymity is not welcome here!

    I voted....have question...

I think that we should have the list...MOST POWERFUL... and a stock modded class for the little guy.

Just my .02 and want the little guy to have a chance to compete in something.

    Seems fair.

P.S. Thanks again Bill forf stepping up and doing this...

Since Connie my wife drives my SC at the track.
Does this mean she can't vote. To have

Just how fast has she driven the SC at the track Randy?

Bill, I am with Sean's version of the list viewer being able to set his own filtering options and including nitrous. I think the vote should be on what modifications will be significant to the filtering (supercharger type, nitrous etc.)

Randy- This is not the 1/4 mile list everyone is discussing, this is the dyno list.

    Exclamation Clarification on option #4...

The pitch I made was for one list, regardless of powerplant or other engine related mods. This seems to have been slotted in as option #4 "SC VIN - UNRESTRICTED - NITROUS PERMITTED ( on dyno)".

I'm concerned that the wording is turning away potential voters for this option, because of the astigmatism to allowing the use of N2O on the dyno.

The whole logic behind this option was to have one list that everyone can belong to, so long as the car they're entering was originally titled as an SC (Read: R-code car). We can sit here all day long and debate where the line is to be drawn concerning what still constitutes a "Super Coupe", but consider for a moment that pretty much any mod we do is done for the same reason... To enhance our cars. ...Bottom line.

Gary Kuhn swapped in a non-ABS brake system. Did this alter the performance of his SC? ...Sure did! Might have taken away from the original package, as opposed to improve upon it, but I know that better handling during emergency braking wasn't Gary's motivation for doing this. Gary, this isn't meant to be a criticism of your decision to do this. Having done HG's in my car, I can say I'd love to get rid of that big, ugly, obtrusive ABS unit in my engine bay!!! Point is, even before Gary bolted the Whipple onto his car, and used N20 at the track, should the change in the braking system have been a reason to exclude him from the Most Powerful list?! ...No way. Not in my books anyway.

What about raised tops??? What about FMIC's??? What about custom ground camshafts??? Bigger fuel injectors??? Overdrive SC pulleys??? How many of us are running those? Guess what? ...Ford didn't build the SC that way. If we take a true purist approach to this, anything other than an OEM part on an SC would be reason to exclude it from the list.

So, why then are we proposing we draw the line at the SC block? What's going to happen when we reach the absolute maximum potential of the SC block? ...All other efforts to make improvements will eventually die. A few of our members (e.g. Wayne Ing, David Neibert, Pro Street Rich) have decided to really step things up, and have swapped V8's into their SC's. Should these guys be excluded just because they didn't want to run into the brick wall (limits of the SC block), and want to have a solid platform for years of future mods in their SC's? IMO, no. They shouldn't be left out.

My suggestion was that we have ONE LIST. ...Regardless of whether you're running a stock SC block, or a 500 cid V8 FMS crate motor. Perhaps whether we allow for the submission of dyno sheets when N20 was used should be treated as a separate issue altogether. I suggested that instead of segregating the entries into separate lists based on categories yet to be determined, we use one large list including everyone with an R-code T-Bird. Then, we use filtering functionality to allow the viewer to sort/filter cars based on the mods they want to see. For instance, if I wanted to see dyno numbers for all entries using the MPII blower, I could do this. If I wanted to see dyno numbers for all V8 SC's, I could do this. If I wanted to see numbers for all Non-Eaton M90 supercharged SC's, I could do this. If I wanted to see the overall list, with the highest horsepower SC (R-code T-Bird), I could easily do this. It would be nice if a link could be included to each entries' Member's Page directly, so that I could quickly and easily see an overall list of what the person put into their car to achieve those numbers.

The reason I'm advocating this sort of list is because for me, the list is a useful tool to people contemplating what to do with their SC's. I'm no where near the top of the current list, and I'll only be bumped further down by allowing V8's and Whipple-charged SC's to the list, but I don't care about that. Among cars with my level of mods, and cars with the amount of money that I've invested thus far, my car does very well. ...That's what is important to me. Furthermore, if I'm looking for direction as to how I can step things up a little, I don't currently have a good tool for helping me. I have to look at the list, and then go to the Member's Pages of those I guess are near my level of mods and see what they've got in their cars. ...The current list is fairly useless in this regard.

I guess at present, the list is really just made to cater to those who are very competitive in nature, and who are only concerned about having their entry as close to the top as possible. There's nothing wrong with people being this way, but the list isn't a useful tool to anyone else.

Hopefully this post will help future voters understand why I suggested option #4, and won't be immediately put off by the mention of "NITROUS PERMITTED".

    Best regards,

    Sean

Sean- you are really workin' it.

I dont think you are going to persue anyone, even the 3 V8 guys you mentioned above all voted for something different.

One thing for sure is that most people don't like the existing rules at all and want some type of change.

The thing that always stays in my mind on how to vote is when you go to other boards. If you go to the GN board and the top guy has a V8, you say oh but he has a V8. However the next guy has a huge turbo and a liquid IC on his V6 and that is the one you talk about. Same as the GTP's, someone posted how great the guy was for putting on a whipple and running 11's. Dirty bird spent his life savings on his turbo project because a V6 mustang guy ran 11's.
I am in no way discrediting the V8 guys, especially Dave, Wayne, and Rich but it is not a comparible set-up.
They should however be rewarded and I still struggle with finding a way for those individuals to be recognized, maybe it will be a seperate list called "unlimted top 10 performers" or something gay like that.
Either way it goes I will be happy with change.

I'm glad you made the sexual preference of the list clear, because I was wondering what it might be.
