    out for a sunday drive...

and were heading to grandma's to have some food n drink some beer...and were going everything is peachy, next thing ya know were passing people kinda fast...and the speedo is barried and rpms are at 3500. I never really pushed it or tried to just seemed to be where it wanted to stop. So we drove like that for a min or two yada yada then slowed down.

Thing is, i could swear i always get to 3500 rpm and thats kinda where it stops...i never specifically tried to push it past 3500 but like every time i've done this 2 or 3 now it's stopped there i believe.

    Anyone get past 3500?

What do you mean it "stops" @ 35oo???

You are "not" able to go higher, literally,
    or figuratively...?

Mine can go as high as pushing el gas-pedalo
    enables....so it ain't limited or check-valved off...!
    In each and every gear.
So, if uers is cut-off @ 3.5, then, son, youse
    got a damn problem....(!)

only in fourth gear...like i'm sure it can go higher...but that just seems to be where i kinda level off...when i'm driving faster.

it doesn't literally stop there..just it's either the place thats cool to stop, or that point is the top speed of the car lol. I dunno which yet.

thats why i'm askin if anyones ever barried the speedo or whatever and pushed it past 3500 in 4th assuming they're in a stock '90 auto

Well, then, Scott, subject to input by our resident
guru, Raj & Company, it would appear that your
wheels are maximized at that rpm due to the
complete package's both, capacity and ability to
hit that level....and I would'nt push it beyond
since one can't know what life-shortening
    consequences may/could/would/should result...lol!

WHEN things are mechanically as they should be,
there technically is absolutely no reason why
you should experience any rpm limiting resistance
in relation to gas input to the engine. Since
yours has somekind of handicap, until it is
    diagnosed, isolated, and repaired/enhanced, don't
go there where nature fears to tread...lol!
    Hope that helps??? Peace, virgil

hmm forgot to post last week on this all and what not, but was out for a sunday drive to grandmas again, cept it was a lil windier this time and i had a couple more bodies in the car...needless to say i managed to get it up to about 4000rpm before it seemed like a good time to slow down, wasn't much liking that wind.
